Three Aspects of an Amazing Website
Posted by aonenetworks On January 4, 2013Your website doesn’t have to be perfect, but in order to keep the leads that it generates from walking away, it does have to be user friendly. Because of this, you need to make sure the latest trends in website building are in the forefront of your mind. Currently, the biggest aspect of website building is simplicity. A simple website entices a potential client to stick around because they can understand the content without much effort. Here are three ways to keep your website simple.
Guide Your Users from your Homepage
Don’t be afraid to direct your traffic in the direction you want them to go in. They will appreciate a bit of help figuring out where they should go next now that they have seen your front page. A few suggestions: if you want them to know about you, direct them to the “about us” page. If you want them to check out your services to see what the right fit is for them, send them to the “services” page (you should have a page with summaries that link to full pages).
Don’t Sent People to External Links
On occasion, you may mention another credible website in a blog or two. This is completely normal and quite kind, as backlinks help their rankings, too. However, what you don’t want to do is send people away from your website. Once they’re gone, they may not return. Instead, use internal links as often as possible, and keep people looking through your archives instead of someone else’s.
Use the Proper Tone on Your Pages
If your company is silly, your website shouldn’t be a bunch of boring text with some stock images. Make sure your company matches your website and vice versa so there’s no confusion about a potential client being in the right place. Don’t be afraid to show your true colors – people like to see different companies sometimes.
