Productivity: How to Keep Producing When it’s Difficult to Do So
Posted by aonenetworks On March 6, 2014Keeping productive isn’t always the easiest thing to do. There’s always things that get in our way. From laziness to family emergencies, the reasons and excuses for not getting something done are almost endless. Staying productive during one of these situations is difficult, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. Here are a couple of tips to help you find your motivation and to keep up with all of the tasks at hand, even when it feels impossible.
Priorities
Don’t assume this tip means that you should put work first. It doesn’t, but it does mean that you need to know where work goes in your scale of priorities. Is it second, first, third? Is it the most important until something bad happens at home? Is it only first during the week? You, and only you, can decide where your priorities lie. You can even prioritize the things you do at work. Focus on the things you have to do first, then focus on the other projects, even if those projects are more enjoyable for you to work on.
Procrastinate
There is more than one individual in the world that actually uses procrastination as a productivity tool. The trick is to wait until the last second to get something done. For many people, this helps them focus and amps them up for what’s to come. Finishing a project minutes before it is due gives some people a rush of energy and excitement that only comes from procrastinating. However, remember that emergencies do come up, and if something interrupts your session that you could easily fall off track and miss your deadline. It’s a good tool, but it should be used in moderation.
